Multiple Myeloma Research
Multiple myeloma is a life-threatening blood cancer that remains incurable, despite advances in treatment. It affects around 6,000 people in the UK every year, yet it remains under-recognised and often diagnosed late.
Research at the University of Edinburgh focuses on genetic instability in myeloma cells, a key driver of disease progression and high-risk cases. By gaining deeper insights into these genetic changes, we aim to develop better diagnostic tools and identify new treatment targets.
Your support will help us analyse more patient samples, process complex genetic data, and bring our discoveries closer to clinical applications.
It will also help us raise awareness, engage with patients and families, and build a stronger myeloma research community. Every contribution brings us closer to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Thank you for supporting myeloma research.
