About your donation
The University is home to a major research centre called the Patrick Wild Centre for Research into Autism, Fragile X Syndrome and Intellectual Disabilities. It has recently launched a new fund which investigates the impact of the SYNGAP1 gene on brain development. Young people who have a mutated SYNGAP1 gene can develop serious medical symptoms which include intellectual disabilities and epilepsy.
