About your donation
Charles Barkla was appointed to the Chair of Natural Philosophy in 1913 and won the Nobel Prize for Physics four years later, influencing many bright minds along the way. His successful career was enabled by bursaries and scholarships and it is this heritage that we wish to pass on through the Charles Barkla Bursaries— helping aspiring Physicists and Astronomers experiencing financial difficulties to study at Edinburgh and thereby fulfil their potential, regardless of their financial situation.
